Track/Conditions

Well let me start off by saying it was an awesome weekend and a great turn out for the first series race! This is the first of many race reports to come in the near future!

Track recap:

Conditions for the weekend were excellent, nice and cool with plenty of moisture. The track was very FAST with some nice elevation changes and long straights. Saturday the track had quite a bit of moisture with all the rain that moved through the Panhandle, the first few laps of the day were wet! Sunday light drizzling continued to keep the track nice and tacky. The total length of the track was 5.8 miles. To view a lap around the track, check out the video below!

Race Results

We had a pretty good turn out for the first race and we're very excited to see all the happy faces ready to race!

Saturday Races:

The ATV intermediate class was won by Kervyn Poitevint, his father Brian Poitevint took the Beginner UTV win, Michael Davis had the overall as well as the win for Expert UTV.

Sunday Races:

Saturday races began with the Open class, Landon Landry was off to an early lead but decided to give the other guys the trophy and slowed down. Race 2 was the novice large/small and beginner classes. Jordan Polk had the overall after an exciting battle for the lead with Dakota Carter. Race 3 was the expert/intermediate/over 30/40/50 classes, overall went to Landon Landry, but Mr. Mike McGovern put in an impressive ride with a huge win over the intermediate class. Mike ended up forfeiting his victory since he had such a big lead, what a great show of sportsmanship!

Injured Riders Update:

In the beginner class Ethan Copelin had the ride of a life time after going over the bars on a kicker jump. Luckily he is doing well! He has a broken collar bone and a concussion but has been release from the hospital! Get well soon Ethan!

In the intermediate class Dillon Duncan took a wrong turn in a gravel pit, leading him off a ledge. He was airlifted to the hospital. He is in much better shape than anyone would have thought, just swollen and a little bruised! Get well soon Dillon!
